Our Mission
Pathways To Independence Inc. is based on Christian principles valuing each person's worth and dignity. Our goal is to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach independence while engaging in their community. PTI advocates for individuals with IDD to achieve their goals and provide necessary resources for a fulfilling life.
The Vision of Pathways To Independence is to empower and integrate individuals with developmental disabilities through innovative and progressive support within a Christian environment. The successful implementation of this vision provides a foundation for these individuals to achieve their maximum potential and to be socially integrated and connected within the community while seeking their desires and dreams to live a Good Life in charting their best life course. This entails relationships with their family, friends, and advocates who will accompany the individual through their life. PTI will assist these individuals along with their family members to develop the highest level of independence to live, work and recreate within the local community.
Our Vision
Pathways To Independence Will:
Consult with individuals and their families with IDD to assist them in promoting their hopes, dreams and needs to live a good life.
Assist young adults with IDD in the areas of community advocacy and community living to build appropriate skills to acquire proper social capital.
Assist the individual with IDD and their family to prepare them for Person Centered Planning meetings with their Service provider and State Coordinator.
Assist individuals and their families to qualify for Adult Services with the State of Nebraska.
Assist individuals and their families who are seeking Transition Programming and will provide them with the proper information and expectations for success within the local community.
Consult with Direct Support Professionals in a variety of training to equip them with the proficient skills necessary to perform their job with high-level proficiency.
Offer a Needs Assessment to determine the individual’s skills and needs to follow their desires, hopes, dreams and needs to live a good life.
